3 Main purposes of Training
Through correct authentic teaching and commitment from the student, the following can be achieved:
一
Positive Personal
Development
Classes are taught mostly outdoors in nature in a very traditional way with a strong emphasis on commitment, focus and discipline. Students are expected to follow a traditional martial etiquette. Having this approach enables the student to develop this both inside and outside of the class. At this current time, we only teach adults (18+).
二
Health & Wellbeing
Classes are structured in a way that can improve a person's physical health and emotional wellbeing through specific training exercises, techniques and meditative practice. This is achieved by incorporating the principles of Yin and Yang throughout the traditional training.
三
Effective
Self-Defence
By learning traditional forms ("taolu" 套路) and traditional drills ("ji ben gong" 基本功) and their application students will learn how to apply certain techniques in an organic and natural way. Advanced students then move on to free-sparring 散打.
Through internal and external practice, a student is able to not only fend off physical illness and mental stress, but also recover quickly or defend themselves if they have to.
